Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
At ZIP Password Remover, your privacy is our top priority. This policy explains how we handle your data and why our tool is one of the most privacy-respecting options available.
Your Files Never Leave Your Device
ZIP Password Remover processes your files entirely in your web browser using zip.js. This means:
- Your files are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party server.
- We cannot see, access, or store your file contents or passwords
- The tool works even if you disconnect from the internet after loading the page
Data We Collect
We collect minimal, anonymized data for basic usage statistics:
- Anonymized IP address: We remove the last octet (e.g., 192.168.1.100 becomes 192.168.1.0) so we cannot identify individual users
- Event type: Whether you viewed a page or successfully removed a ZIP password (we do NOT record which files)
- File type: That the file was a ZIP - not the filename or contents
- Browser type: Basic browser information to ensure compatibility
- Language: Which language version of the site you used
No Cookies
We do not use cookies. We do not use any tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party cookies. Your browser's storage is never accessed by our tool.
No Third-Party Tracking
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking services. All analytics are handled by our own minimal logging system with anonymized data.
Data Retention
Anonymized usage logs are retained for up to 90 days for the purpose of understanding general usage patterns and improving the service. After this period, logs are automatically deleted.
Your Rights
Since we collect only anonymized data that cannot be linked to individuals, there is no personal data to access, modify, or delete. If you have concerns about privacy, you can use the tool offline after the initial page load.
